Private First Class Dahlstrom was a member of the 3rd Platoon, Company L, 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. He was Wounded in Action against the enemy in North Korea on June 12, 1951 and evacuated to the United States on June 27, 1951. He died on August 13, 1951 at Camp Carson, Colorado from complications of acute hepatitis from blood transfusions received in Korea.
