For his leadership and valor, Corporal Frattaroli was awarded the Silver Star, the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, the Republic of Korea War Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
Corporal Frattaroli was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a member of the 11th Field Artillery Battalion, 24th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action near Taejon, South Korea, as he tried to prevent the enemy from capturing US artillery howitzers on July 20, 1950.
