For his leadership and valor, Corporal Frezzo was awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Corporal Frezzo was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a Browning Automatic Rifleman in Company G, 2nd Battalion, 5th Infantry Regimental Combat Team. He was Killed in Action when a superior enemy force overran his position on "George Hill' at the Pusan Perimeter, South Korea on September 3, 1950.
