Private First Class Woodruff was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.



Notes
Private First Class Woodruff was a member of Company K, 3rd Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was listed as Missing in Action while fighting the enemy in South Korea on February 12, 1951. He was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. His remains were recovered on May 28, 1992 and identified in 2009. PFC Woodruff is interred at private cemetery in Missouri. His name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
