Master Sergeant Forehand was a decorated veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a member of Company M, 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division. He was taken Prisoner of War after being wounded at Touchon, South Korea about 1/2 mile south of the 38th Parallel on March 25, 1951. He died of malnutrition at Camp Desoto, while being marched from Pyongyang to POW Camp 3, on October 4, 1951. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
