Private First Class Bauer was a member of Company A, 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. On November 13, 1951, during a training exercise, three mortar rounds fell short wounding him in the chest. He was taken to the battalion aid station where he died. |
