Private Jansky was a member of Company D, 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. On August 30, 1952, while at the regiment's replace training area near Kumgong-ni, North Korea, his platoon entered an unmarked minefield. He died from fragment wounds from an exploding mine. |
