Avranches Liberation Ceremony at Brittany American Cemetery

The mayor, along with a child, lay flowers at headstones in Brittany American Cemetery as part of the Avranches Liberation Ceremony.

Brittany American Cemetery hosted the Avranches Liberation Ceremony on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. David Nicolas, mayor of Avranches, along with his family and members of the municipal counsel came to the cemetery to honor our fallen. During their time on site, they laid 30 individual floral arrangements at the gravesites of those men who died July 30 and 31, 1944.

The ceremony started at the cemetery and then proceeded to the Gen. Patton Monument in Avranches for a wreath-laying ceremony.
