Battle of the Bulge 70th Anniversary Ceremony

Luxembourg American Cemetery hosted a ceremony to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 10:30 a.m.

Fourteen World War II veterans were the guests of honor for this ceremony.

Ceremony participants included:
  • Luxembourg Grand Duke: Grand Duke Henri
  • Luxembourg Prime Minister: Xavier Bettel
  • Commander U.S Army Europe: Lt. Gen. Ben Hodges
  • Commander U.S Air Force Europe And Africa: Gen. Frank Gorenc
  • Representatives of the World War II Museum New Orleans
  • Luxembourg Boy Scouts
  • Technical School of Bonnevoie – Luxembourg

Support from U.S. Army Europe included a Color Guard, an Honor Platoon, and a Firing Detail. The Marine Security Detachment from the U.S. Embassy in Luxembourg also provided support. Support from the Luxembourg Army included a Color Guard, Honor Platoon, and Army Band.

Attendance is free and open to the public.
