Private Frater was a member of Company L, 3rd Battalion, 160th Infantry Regiment, 40th Infantry Division. He was seriously injured in North Korea on November 14, 1951 and returned to duty on March 1, 1952. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on June 17, 1952.
