For his leadership and valor, Captain Neville was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Notes
Captain Neville was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he commanded Company B, 3rd Engineer Combat Battalion, 24th Infantry Division. On August 11, 1950, he volunteered to lead a patrol across the Naktong River, South Korea. Although mortally wounded he remained at the site directing his patrol to safety.
