Sergeant First Class Bourque was decorated veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a member of Headquarters Battery, 674th Airborne Field Artillery Battalion, 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in hand to hand combat near Wonju, South Korea on February 14, 1951.
