Private First Class Brown was a member of Company B, 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in South Korea on September 16, 1950 and returned to duty on November 7, 1950. He was seriously wounded again on January 29, 1951 and returned on February 11, 1951. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in South Korea on February 23, 1951.
