For his leadership and valor, Major Hine was awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, the Commendation Ribbon, the Purple Heart, World War II Victory Medal, the European Theater of Operations Medal and other World War II medals.
Notes
USMA Class of January, 1943, Major Hine was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 100th Infantry Division in Germany. During the Korean War, he was an aide to Major General Withers A. Burress at Camp Atterbury, Indiana. He was stricken with acute leukemia and died at Camp Atterbury on June 28, 1951.
