For his leadership and valor, Captain Scrivener was awarded the Bronze Star, the Air Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Notes
Captain Scrivener served 14 months in Korea as a forward observer with the 96th Armored Field Artillery Battalion with 155mm self-propelled howitzers. After his tour he was assigned to an artillery unit at Ft. Bliss, Texas. On January 3, 1953, while returning from Christmas leave he was killed in an automobile accident near Cortez, Colorado.
