Notes
Major General Soule commanded the 188th Glider Regiment, 11th Airborne Division in the Pacific during World War II. During the Korean War, he commanded the 3rd Infantry Division. Then he was assigned as Inspector of Infantry, Army Field Forces at Fort Monroe, Virginia. On January 26, 1952, he died of a heart attack.
