Ladislao Araos was born in the Philippines on June 27, 1901. He became a naturalized citizen and enlisted in the United States Navy. He was promoted to Chief Steward, serving during World War I and World War II. Upon retirement he resided in Panama. He died on October 30, 1963 and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery.
