Corporal Brown was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a member of Company L, 3rd Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. On July 27, 1952, he died from multiple fractures incurred when his bunker collapsed while sleeping near Sintan-ni, North Korea.
