Notes
Colonel Councill was a decorated veteran of World War II, having served 130 missions with the 13th Air Force in the Pacific. During the Korean War he was the director of the Tactical Air Command at Langley Air Force Base, Hampton, Virginia. On April 5, 1954, while flying T-33 Jet Trainer from Farmingdale, New York to Langley AFB, contact was lost and his aircraft crashed.
