Notes
Lieutenant Junior Grade Evans a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was the pilot of a F9F-2 Panther Jet fighter with Fighter Squadron 93, aboard the aircraft carrier USS PHILIPPINE SEA (CVA-47). On February 16, 1953, while attacking bridges and interdicting railways, his aircraft was struck by anti-aircraft fire and crashed into the water. He was listed as Missing in Action. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
