Master Sergeant Fahy was a veteran of World War II, serving overseas as a Major. With the reduction of forces, he remained in the Army as a Master Sergeant and was assigned to Fort Meade, Maryland. While on leave on December 28, 1952, he died from carbon monoxide poisoning in Rochester, New York.
