Cpl. Harmon was killed in an airplane crash and initially listed as Missing in Action with an Administrative Date of Death of May 23, 1945. Following the war, his remains were interred with the rest of the crew and buried in a group burial in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri. His name is permanently listed on the Walls of the Missing at Manila American Cemetery.
