Notes
Private Janes was a member of Company M, 3rd Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in South Korea on September 15, 1950 and returned to duty on September 21, 1950. He was listed as Missing in Action while fighting the enemy in Korea on May 10, 1952. He was presumed dead on March 31, 1954. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
