Notes
Private Kammerud was a member of the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. On September 8, 1951, while fighting the enemy in North Korea he was taken prisoner and kept in prison camp Ch'ang Song until released on August 18, 1953. On September 26, 1953, while on leave, enroute to Camp Carson, Colorado, he was in an automobile accident near Monroe, killing him.
