Lieutenant Colonel Kosko was a member of the 563rd Tactical Fighter Squadron, Takhli Air Base, Thailand. On July 27, 1965, he was the pilot of a Thunderchief Fighter (F-105D) on a mission over Phu Tho Province, North Vietnam. His aircraft was hit by hostile fire and he ejected and landed in the Black River. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
