Staff Sgt. McNamara was initially listed as missing in action with Jan. 22, 1946 as his Administrative Date of Death. His remains were later recovered and repatriated to the U.S. for burial. His name is permanently engraved on the Walls of the Missing at Manila American Cemetery.
