Corporal Shipley was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Notes
Corporal Shipley was a member of the Army Security Agency. He served in Korea attached to the 60th Signal Service Company for 10 months and was transferred to the 8609th Administration Unit in the Philippines in July 1951, where he died in an accident at Angeles, Luzon, Philippines on April 5, 1952.
