SUMMARY:Annual Liberation Concert 2017 at Netherlands American Cemetery
DESCRIPTION:Netherlands American Cemetery hosted the South Netherlands Philharmonic on Sunday\, September 17\, 2017 at 3 p.m. for the annual liberation concert. The theme for this year’s concert was “The Beginning.” This theme allowed the Philharmonic to express in a musical way the feelings of new beginnings that were made possible when the Allies successfully won the war. \nThe following pieces were performed by the South Netherlands Philharmonic accompanied by the Brabant Choir: \n\nOlivier Messiaen: Chant des déportés\nAntonin Dvořák: Symphony No. 9 “From the New World”\nLeonard Bernstein: Chichester Psalms with a special performance from boy soprano Jérémie de Rijk
