Facebook Live: Behind the Scenes Look at Sculptures in ABMC’s WWII Cemeteries

July 17, 2018 @ 8:00 am

This event has passed.

Join us on Tuesday, July 17 at noon eastern for a Behind the Scenes Look at Sculptures in our World War II Cemeteries. During this Facebook Live event we’ll talk with the son and daughter of Gene J. Leofanti, who was the fabricating, enlarging, and engineering sculptor for multiple sculptures within ABMC’s World War II cemeteries. Leofanti completed some of ABMC’s most iconic sculptures to include The Spirit of American Youth Rising from the Waves in Normandy American Cemetery.

Gene Leofanti works on the Mourning Woman sculpture in his studio in the 1950s. This will eventually be located in Netherlands American Cemetery. Image courtesy of Lynn Cole.
