Private First Class Rivera-Espinel was a member of Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division. On August 8, 1951, he was riding a ferry on the Hatan River near Unchon-ni, Korea. It overturned throwing him into the water and he drowned. |
