USMA Class of 1944, Lieutenant Colonel Davis was the pilot of a F-86 Sabre Jet fighter bomber with the 334th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron, 4th Fighter-Interceptor Group. On February 10, 1952, he was leading a flight of three F-86s near the Sinuiju-Yalu, North Korea. He saw a flight of 12 MiG-15s racing to intercept the U.S. fighter bombers. He positioned his two comrades and attacked the enemy flight singlehandedly. He destroyed three MiG-15s before he was shot down. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
