Sergeant Estep was the radar observer of a T-33A Shooting Star fighter with the 182nd Fighter-Bomber Squadron, 136th Fighter Bomber Wing. On March 6, 1952, while returning from a combat mission, his aircraft's engine stalled on the final approach and crashed short of the runway of Taegu Airfield #1 (K-2), South Korea. |
