A Veterans Day Message from ABMC Secretary Max Cleland

With more than 218,000 men and women buried and memorialized at ABMC sites throughout the world, Secretary Max Cleland reflects on the critical importance of honoring our fallen every day of the year.

Video Transcript:

MAX CLELAND: Time will not dim the glory of their deeds was the watch word that General Pershing, who founded the American Battle Monuments Commission, liked  to use. And that means that every day we keep alive the spirit of service and sacrifice and courage that these young men and women exemplified. So for us, every day is Veterans Day, for us every day’s a chance to tell their story, to maintain their memorials, to maintain their monuments as the testimony of incredible American service and sacrifice around the world that helped keep us free and multiple nations free as well.
