79th Anniversary of Allied Landings at Sicily-Rome American Cemetery

On Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 11 a.m. (local time), Sicily-Rome American Cemetery will host a ceremony in remembrance of the 79th anniversary of the Allied Landings in Anzio and Nettuno, Italy.

The ceremony, led by children from the I.C. Nettuno III Middle School, will include the recounting of the stories of several service members who participated in the landings and are buried in the cemetery as well as performing a musical number. A wreath laying will be held by U.S. and Italian officials.

This day of commemoration will end by with a twilight memorial concert by the Chris Cappell College High School choir, from Anzio, that will start at 5 p.m.

The ceremony and concert are free and open to the public.
