Netherlands American Cemetery to commemorate Memorial Day 2022 on May 29, 2022 at 9 a.m. EDT/ 3 p.m. CEST

The American Battle Monuments Commission’s Netherlands American Cemetery to remember and honor the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom during Memorial Day

WHAT: The American Battle Monuments Commission’s (ABMC) Netherlands American Cemetery (NEAC) is holding a Memorial Day ceremony on May 29, 2022 at 9 a.m. EDT/ 3 p.m. CEST to honor the service, achievements and sacrifice of the U.S. Armed Forces and fulfill the promise of ABMC’s first Chairman, General of the Armies John J. Pershing that “Time Will not Dim the Glory of their Deeds.” The ceremony is open to the public. 

To attend the event, media should contact ABMC PAO at: publicaffairs@abmc.gov.
Deadline for registration is Friday, May 27, 2022. 

Pre-ceremony media opportunities at the Netherlands American Cemetery are available from Thursday, May 26, 2022 to Saturday, May 28, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please indicate if you are interested in the pre-ceremony media opportunities when emailing publicaffairs@abmc.gov. 

In addition, ABMC will livestream on its social media channels the ceremony at the NEAC starting at 9 a.m. (EDT)/ 3 p.m. (CEST) on May 29, 2022. 
A feed will be available for media interested to connect to it. Please contact ABMC PAO to get the information for connecting by emailing publicaffairs@abmc.gov. 

WHEN: May 29, 2022 at 9 a.m. EDT/ 3 p.m. CEST at Netherlands American Cemetery
Attending media should plan to arrive no later than 2 p.m. local time at Netherlands American Cemetery to ensure time for set up.

WHO: This Memorial Day ceremony is open to the public. It will be attended by ABMC representatives, ABMC partners, U.S. government officials, local representatives and military officials. It includes a wreath laying. 
Interview opportunities are determined prior to the event in coordination with ABMC Public Affairs team.
