Private First Class Hoskins was a member of Battery C, 50th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion (Automatic Weapons). On May 23, 1951, he was hit by flying debris when a F-80C Shooting Star fighter interceptor crashed on takeoff at Suwon Air Field (K-13), South Korea.
