Notes
Sergeant Jecelin was a Light Weapons Infantry Leader with Company C, 1st Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. On September 19, 1950, near Saga, South Korea, he led his platoon on a frontal attack on a hill, well-entrenched and heavily armed. The attack was stopped at the base of a cliff. He led his men up the slopes at engaged the enemy in hand to hand combat. An enemy grenade fell among his comrades and he fell upon it to protect his men.
