Sergeant First Class Quillen was a member of the 82nd Anti-Aircraft Artillery (Automatic Weapons) Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded while fighting the enemy in South Korea on September 8, 1950 and died of those wounds on September 13, 1950.
