Rita Zoraida Apestegui Chase was born in Costa Rica on August 14, 1916. She married Charles E. Chase, and lived in the Canal Zone. After Charles' death she moved to Port Orange, Florida. On January 8, 2012, she died at the Halifax Health Hospice in Volusia, Florida. She was cremated and buried in the Corozal American Cemetery with her husband, Charles.
