Bert A. French was a native of Gilmanton, New Hampshire. He retired from the Panama Canal Company where he was employed as a carpenter with the Isthmian Canal Commission. Upon completion of the Canal, he transferred to the Supply Department's Building Division, then with the Mechanical and Locks Division. At the time of his retirement in July 1944, he was a foreman in the Mechanical Division He died at his home on October 4, 1956 and was buried at Corozal American Cemetery. He was survived by his wife, Laura.
