Omer Evert Malsbury Was born in Galena, Kansas on September 7, 1881. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri in 1905. He moved to the Isthmus of Panama and married Carmen Malsbury. On September 10, 1917, he was commissioned as a Captain and served as Company Commander, 302nd Engineer Survey Company. On July 20, 1918, he was promoted to Major and served as Commanding Officer, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Engineer Regiment. After his discharge from the service he worked for the Panama Canal Company surveying and establishing boundary lines for the Costa Rican Oil Company. He died on May 19, 1970 and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery near his wife, Carmen.
