George Baum was born in New York in 1887. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a Sergeant with the Motor Transport Company. After his enlistment ended, he moved to Panama and worked as a restaurant assistant with the Panama Canal Company. He died on September 1, 1920 and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery.
