Joaquin Benavides was born in Nicaragua on August 23, 1902. He moved to Panama to work for the Panama Canal Company. After retirement he remained in Panama. He died on January 10, 1970 from glioblastoma multiforme right temple and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery.
