Willis R, Cook was born in Meramec, Missouri on July 24, 1894. In about 1920 he married Cleo Lant. During World War I, he enlisted in the Army and served as a Private in Battery D, 119th Field Artillery, 32nd Division. After the war, he moved to the Canal Zone and worked for the U.S. Navy as a civilian. He divorced Cleo Cook shortly thereafter. After retirement from the Navy he remained in Panama. He died on February 2, 1962 at the Gorgas Hospital and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery.
