Getting There

Normandy American Cemetery sits on a cliff overlooking Omaha Beach and the English Channel, east of St. Laurent-sur-Mer and northwest of Bayeux in Colleville-sur-Mer.

Due to security concerns, the pathway from Normandy American Cemetery to the beach was closed to the public in 2016. However, public beach access is available nearby.

  • 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    Please note, admission to the cemetery ends at 4:30 p.m., 30 minutes before closing time.

  • The cemetery is open to the public daily, except on December 25 and January 1. It is open on host country holidays.

    When open, a staff member is on duty in the visitor building to answer questions and escort relatives to grave and memorial sites. 

    To plan a site visit, a visit to a relative’s grave, request a group visit, special tour, or wreath laying ceremony, please contact [email protected].

  • Admission is FREE and does not currently require booking in advance.
