Visitor access to the grounds has also been limited due to noticeable degradation of the site caused by foot traffic.
The Pointe du Hoc Ranger Monument will exceptionally be closed on Feb. 22, 2024, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Access to the monument will be blocked during this time frame for security reasons.
The Normandy American Cemetery will be closed to the public on June 5, 2024, for operational reasons. Only staff and official personnel will be able to access the cemetery.
