Sergeant Andring was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Prisoner of War Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Notes
Sergeant Andring was a member of Company L, 3rd Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy in South Korea on February 14, 1951 and died in a North Korean prison camp on April 30, 1951. His name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. SGT Andring's remains were later recovered and then identified in 2014.
