Captain Brasher was a member of 131st Aviation Company, 212th Aviation Battalion, 16 Aviation Group. On September 28, 1966, he was the pilot of a Grumman Mohawk Aircraft (OV-1B) on a reconnaissance mission off the coast of North Vietnam. A Surface to Air Missile (SAM) hit the aircraft about 40 due east of Phuc Loi in the Gulf of Tonkin. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
