Notes
Ensign Brown was the pilot of a F4U-4B Corsair fighter with Fighter Squadron 53, aboard the carrier USS VALLEY FORGE (CV-45). On September 25, 1950, while on a combat mission near Sariwon, North Korea, his aircraft crash landed possibly due to enemy anti-aircraft fire. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
