Staff Sergeant Bullman was a crew member of a B-29A Superfortress Bomber with the 325th Bomber Squadron, 92nd Bomber Group. On October 14, 1950, while on a bombing mission, the aircraft's engines caught fire and the crew was ordered to bail out. Later, the fire was extinguished and the order was cancelled. He landed in Sagami Bay and drowned. His remains were recovered.
